Asian Games 2026: India face Pakistan in cricket final, Malaysia in hockey - Schedule

India enjoyed a memorable day at the Asian Games on October 2, with a boxing hat-trick, wrestling gold and a historic women’s hockey title leading the medal rush.

Lovlina Borgohain, Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal all won gold in their respective boxing finals, while Sujeet Kalkal produced a stunning comeback from 2-9 down to beat Tajikistan’s Abdulmazhid Kudiev 10-9 in the men’s freestyle 65kg final. India’s women’s hockey team then ended a 44-year wait for Asian Games gold with a 1-0 win over China.

Archery also brought India its first-ever Asian Games gold in the women’s recurve team event, while Dhiraj Bommadevara and Kumkum Mohod added a mixed recurve silver. Nethra Kumanan won sailing bronze and India secured a historic men’s quadrant bronze in sepak takraw. Pranavi Urs also held the sole lead in the women’s golf individual event after Round 3.

With the Games entering their final weekend, India face another packed day on October 3, with two major team finals taking centre stage.

The day begins with golf, with the women’s Round 4 at 3:30 AM, followed by the men’s Round 4 at 4:25 AM.

Archery gets underway at 5:30 AM, with the women’s recurve individual quarterfinal featuring India against South Korea. The women’s semifinals are scheduled for 6:30 AM, followed by the medal matches at 7:05 AM.
