U20 Wrestling World C'ships: Jyoti Berwal wins gold medal
India won three medals in women's freestyle on the third day of the World U20 Wrestling Championships in Spain.

Jyoti Berwal has become the World U20 Wrestling Champion in women's 76 Kg.
The young 19-year-old, Jyoti Berwal became the U20 world champion in women's 76 kg freestyle wrestling at the U20 World Wrestling Championships in Pontevedra, Spain on Thursday.
This is the second consecutive world u20 title for India in women's 76 Kg after Priya Malik, who claimed the same in the 2023 edition.
Alongside Jyoti's gold, India won two more medals in the women's freestyle wrestling on the day as Komal (59 Kg) and Sristhi (68 Kg) also bagged bronze medals for India.
Jyoti started her competition with a 4-0 win over Tuvshinjargal Tarav of Mongolia in the round of 16 and then she continued her form taking down the Chinese and Turkish opponents in the next two rounds to book her place in the final.
In the final, she had a solid fight against Ukraine's Mariia Orlevych, who could not get any opportunity to score a point because of Jyoti's aggressive play, helping her to confirm a gold medal with a 5-0 victory.
This is the second major medal for Jyoti after a silver medal at the U23 World Championships last year, in Albania, in the women's 72 Kg category.
However, Muskan (50 Kg) lost her close bronze medal bout against the Ukrainian opponent, Aida Kerymova, and missed out on a medal.
India has a few more medal matches in the women's freestyle category tomorrow including a gold medal bout in women's 62 Kg, where India's Nitika will face an experienced Ukrainian opponent, Iryna Bondar.
