Aditi, Neha, Pulkit, and Mansi clinched four gold medals in the women's freestyle category at the U17 World Wrestling Championships.
Indian women's freestyle wrestlers put up a dominant display to clinch four gold medals at the U17 World Wrestling Championships in Amman, Jordan on Thursday.
Aditi Kumari won the first gold medal for India at the event after a dominating (7-0) victory over Maria Louiza Gkika of Greece in the final of women's 43 Kg.
She took a commendable 7-0 lead at halftime with the help of a few full turns and then maintained that lead in the second half to win the match without losing any points.
Neha followed this with another tremendous gold medal for India in women's 57 Kg, beating So Tsutsui of Japan on technical superiority (10-0). This is her second U17 World Championship medal after a bronze last year.
The third gold for India came in the women's 65 kg category as Pulkit won a close (6-3) bout against Daria Frolova of Neutral Athletes. In the final few seconds, she showed good defense to hold on to her gold medal.
Mansi Lather hit the final nail in the coffin with a win in the women's 73 Kg final against Hanna Pirskaya. She claimed this victory with a strong pin in the second half of the final.
Close wins in semis for Shrutika and Kajol
Earlier in the day, Shrutika Shivaji Patil reached the final of women's 46 kg, showing an impressive defensive in the second quarter to escape a 1-point victory (2-1) against Medina Kuanyshbek of Kazakhstan.
Then, Kajal (69 Kg) created another close (4-3) win in the semis against Rahma Magdy Hosafy Bediwy of Egypt to become the sixth female wrestler from India to qualify for the gold medal match.
However, Bala Raj (40 Kg) couldn't continue the Indian winning run and lost (3-4) to Aleksandra Fedorova after a close bout which was decided on the virtue of a successful challenge decision post the full-time.
On the other hand, Muskan (53 Kg) and Rajnita (61 Kg) will be in action at the repechage round tomorrow as both the wrestlers lost in the quarterfinals and their opponents reached the final.
