Olympic medallist Aman Sehrawat rises to World No. 2 in men’s 57kg category
Aman, who was ranked sixth before the Paris Olympics, currently holds the second spot in the UWW rankings with 51,600 points.

Paris Olympics bronze medal-winning Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat rose four places to be ranked second in the latest men's 57 category world rankings of the United World Wrestling.
He beat Puerto Rico’s Darian Toi Cruz 13-5 in the bronze medal playoff. His victory also helped India maintain their Olympic medal spree intact.
Aman, who was ranked sixth before the Paris Olympics, currently holds the second spot in the UWW rankings with 51,600 points.
The Indian wrestler from Birohar, Haryana, was in good form in Paris. But he lost to Japan’s Rei Higuchi, who is ranked number one in the world with 59,000 points, in the semifinals.
In the Round of 16, Aman got better of North Macedonia’s Vladimir Egorov 10-0 in the Round of 16 and beat Albania’s Zelimkhan Abakanov in the quarterfinals on 12-0 technical superiority.
Aman, who took up wrestling being inspired by Sushil Kumar's silver medal-winning performance in the 2012 London Olympics, had qualified for the Paris Olympics after he beat Ravi Dahiya, the Tokyo Olympics silver medallist, in the qualifiers.
Aman's bronze medal-winning performance helped India maintain their medal-winning streak in the Olympics.
Since the 2008 Beijing Olympics, India won at least one medal in every edition of the Games.
