    WPL 2026 Auction- RTM Rules!

For the first time ever, Right to Match (RTM) cards are part of the WPL auction. RTMs allow a franchise to reclaim a released player by matching the highest bid placed by another team.

The number of RTMs available depends entirely on retentions:

Teams that retained all five players will not have any RTM cards.

Franchises that kept four players will have one RTM available.

    WPL 2026 Auction Rules Explained!

Each franchise can build a squad of up to 18 players, and there are 73 total slots available this year, including 23 for overseas players.

A key change for 2026 is the introduction of Right to Match (RTM) cards. Based on their retentions, teams can use up to five RTMs to bring back a player from their 2025 squad by matching the highest bid.

Franchises that retained fewer players now walk in with bigger purses and more RTM flexibility, which could give them a tactical edge in today’s mega auction.
