Indian players to look out for in WPL auction
Despite just 19 slots available, there are few young Indian players to look out for which the teams will look to buy and fill up their spots.
Raghavi Bist and Pratika Rawal received their call-ups for the Indian senior team yesterday and will be among the top names the five teams will pursue.
Apart from these two, youngsters like G Kamalini and Tanisha Singh are a couple of other names that can spark a bidding war among the franchises.
Highest Reserve Price Players
England captain Heather Knight and West Indies allrounder Deandra Dottin are the only players in the highest reserve price category of INR 50 lakh.
Youngest and Oldest Players on the Shortlist
At just 14 years old, Delhi Capitals’ Anshu Nagar and Mumbai Indians Ira Jadhav are the youngest players in the auction pool. On the other hand, Australia’s Laura Harris, who was released by Delhi Capitals, is the oldest at 34 years.
This year’s shortlist includes three Associate players: UAE’s Theertha Satish and Samaira Dharnidharka, and Scotland’s Sarah Bryce, who recently played for the Sydney Sixers in the WBBL.
When will WPL 2025 start?
The WPL 2025 will take place from the end of February 21 and will end in the second week of March. It will feature a double round-robin format followed by the playoffs and the final.
