India, on Monday, defeated Ireland by 5 runs via the DLS method to qualify for the semifinals of the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Smriti Mandhana starred with the bat for India after they opted to bat, before the rain played spoilsport during Ireland's chase.

Shafali never looked settled in the middle and has to depart now. A loose delivery on middle and leg from Laura Delany, the batter tries a wristy aerial flick but the connection is not the best. Ireland finally hang on to a catch as Amy Hunter grabs it low at deep square-leg. Out for 24 off 29.

Smriti Mandhana wants to go big. She is giving it her all, but is failing to connect properly. Frustration creeping in now and she has a wry smile as once again an aerial shot lands away from fielders.

India bring up their 50 in the eighth over as Smriti Mandhana goes aerial over covers but once again fails to get a hold of it, thankfully the ball lands in no man's land.
She is trying to force things here, but it is not coming off and has once again been handed a life. Dropped at deep mid-wicket this time after smashing a full toss straight to the fielder.

Smriti Mandhana looks to go over mid-off, but does not connect it properly. She, however, has got it a bit far from the fielder, who tries moves to her left and leaps to get there but the ball bursts through her hands. Lucky for India!
