New Zealand defeated India by 76 runs in Ahmedabad, leveling the series 1-1.

Batting first, New Zealand posted a competitive score of 259 for 9, with captain Sophie Devine leading the charge with a steady 79 runs.

Devine formed an 82-run partnership with Maddy Green, who contributed 42 runs, helping anchor New Zealand’s innings.

Bates also made a significant impact with a solid 58 runs, while Georgia Plimmer added 41 at the top of the order.

India’s bowlers had some success, with Radha Yadav emerging as the standout with figures of 4 for 69. Deepti Sharma also provided key support, claiming 2 wickets for 30 runs.

In reply, India’s batting lineup struggled to find momentum. Aside from Radha Yadav, who top-scored with 48 off 64 balls, most Indian batters struggled to stay at the crease.

Saima Thakor contributed 29 runs, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur managed 24, but these efforts were not enough to challenge New Zealand’s total, as India was bowled out for 183 in 47.1 overs.

New Zealand’s bowlers dominated, with Lea Tahuhu and Sophie Devine each taking three wickets. Eden Carson and Jess Kerr also chipped in with two wickets apiece, ensuring New Zealand’s victory by 76 runs.

With the series now tied, both teams will look to clinch the decider in the upcoming third ODI.
