The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) launched a new monthly pension scheme for former women cricketers on Thursday.

To be eligible for the Karnataka State Cricket Association's pension, the player must have represented the state in national championships and must be at least 55 years of age as of 1 April, 2026. Those who receive pension under the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) won't be eligible.

Those who are selected will receive Rs 15,000 monthly from the KSCA.

Meanwhile, the pension scheme from Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association will range from Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,500 per month.

"Former women players who have played in international Tests and One Day Internationals will be provided Rs 12,500 per month," said Sudhir Asnani, the honorary secretary of the association.

"Those who have played domestic cricket will be given Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000, depending on the number of matches played," he added.

With this development Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh join the likes of Gujarat, Vidarbha, Bengal, Baroda, and Rajasthan, who already provide pensions to women cricketers.
