The Indian women's team secured its third win of the tournament in its penultimate group match against Bangladesh at the ICC Women's T20I World Cup on Thursday.
Chasing a total of 137 runs in just 16.5 overs, the team won by 5 wickets against their Asian rivals to stay in the hunt for a semi-final spot from their group.
With the win, India has risen to second in the points table with 6 points from four games and will take on Australia on Sunday in a must-win match.
Bangladesh got off to a steady start, scoring 40 runs in the power play with just one wicket lost. However, they failed to accelerate in the death overs as India’s spinners took control.
Radha Yadav picked up 3 wickets while Sree Charani claimed 2 as India restricted Bangladesh within 150, giving their batters a breathing space.
India began the chase aggressively and continued their attacking approach despite losing Smriti Mandhana in the third over, with Shafali Verma scoring a quick-fire half-century.
India lost a few wickets in the middle overs, but Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur stayed calm and took the team home comfortably.
