Harmanpreet Kaur to lead India in home series against the West Indies
Priya Punia, who injured her knee in the second ODI against Australia, has been omitted.
The BCCI Women’s Selection Committee on Friday announced the Indian women’s cricket squads for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against West Indies.
The series will feature three T20Is and three ODIs, scheduled over the next two weeks.
Kaur to lead
Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the side in both formats, with key players like Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, and Deepti Sharma named in both squads.
Young talents like Uma Chetry, Titas Sadhu, Saima Thakor, Minnu Mani, Renuka Singh Thakur, and Priya Mishra are also included across formats.
The T20I squad features Nandini Kashyap, Sajana Sajeevan, Raghvi Bist, and Radha Yadav, while Pratika Rawal, Tejal Hasabnis, and Tanuja Kanwer are added for the ODI series.
Priya Punia injured
Yastika Bhatia, Shreyanka Patil, and Priya Punia will miss the series due to injuries.
Also, Priya Punia, who injured her knee in the second ODI against Australia, will not be part of the squad.
Venue and schedule
The T20I matches will be played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, while the ODI series is scheduled to be played at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
Recent form and ICC Women’s Championship
India endured a tough away ODI series against Australia, losing 0-3.
The team will look to regain momentum and improve their standings in the ICC Women’s Championship through this series.
