Anushka Sharma handed maiden call up as India name T20I squad for South Africa series
Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the Indian team in the series starting from 17 April.

Batter Anushka Sharma, who shot to fame via her outings for Gujarat Giants in the 2026 Women's Premier League earlier this year, has been handed a maiden international call-up as India announced a 15-member squad for five-match T20I series against South Africa on Tuesday.
The Indian women's cricket team is slated to travel to South Africa for in April next month as a part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the women in blue and will have southpaw Smriti Mandhana as her deputy.
The regulars like Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh also feature in the Indian contingent, whereas Sneh Rana and Amanjot Kaur have been dropped.
