Sufna Jasmin set new national records at Weightlifting C'ships
Sufna Jasmin set two national records. She set the snatch national record by lifting 76 kg. Her total lift of 169 kg is also a national record in the category.
Sufna Jasmin, a promising weightlifter from Kerala, broke two national records - snatch and total lift in the Women's 45 kg category at the National Weightlifting Championships on Monday.
Sufna, a junior national champion in 2022, set the snatch national record by lifting 76 kg. Her total lift of 169 kg is also a national record in the category.
By attaining the feat, Sufna broke Dipali Gursale's national record achieved at last year's National Games.
In 2023, Dipali broke the records of Jhilli Dalabehera (total of 164 kg) and Komal Kohar (snatch of 74 kg) by 75 kg in the snatch category and 165 kg in total.
Meanwhile, Jyoshna Sabar of Odisha clinched the gold medal in the Girls' 40 Kg Youth category, while Harsbardhan Sahu won the gold medal in the men's youth 49 Kg category. She secured first place by lifting a total of 120 Kg. Preetismita Bhoi, meanwhile, won the 45kg youth category and a bronze in the junior category.
