Arokiya Alish of Tamil Nadu broke her own national record in the Clean and Jerk category of the women's 87kg on Sunday.

Arokiya broke the record with a massive lift of 128 kg at the IWLF National Championships in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh as the event came to an end.

In 2022, Arokiya won a silver medal at the National Games in the women’s 76kg title with an aggregate of 206kg.

Meanwhile, Sambo Lapung of Arunachal Pradesh won the gold medal in the senior men's category, while Kojum Taba won silver in the 102 kg category.

On Saturday, Mehak Sharma of Punjab broke two national records in the women's +87kg category.

The tournament also witnessed Lalruatfela of Mizoram create a new national record in clean and jerk section by lifting 174 kg bettering the old record of 171 kg of Manish of Haryana.

G Ravisankar of Andhra Pradesh lifted 311kg to better the old record of 304 kg held by Ramkaran Prajapati of Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu won the inter-state senior men's team title, while Punjab bagged the women's team crown.

M Raja of the Railways was adjudged the best lifter in the senior men's category, while Sufna Jasmin of Kerala won the title in the women's category.
