India sets new Guinness World Record with 430 players in a single indoor Volleyball match
The event brought together 430 players in a single game, shattering the previous record of 294 participants set in France during the Téléthon 2011.
The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Volleyball Foundation Festival in Bhubaneswar, India, achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a new Guinness World Record for the most players in an indoor volleyball exhibition match, on October 4.
The event brought together 430 players in a single game, shattering the previous record of 294 participants set in France during the Téléthon 2011.
This event, organized in collaboration with the FIVB Volleyball Foundation, KIIT (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology), and KISS, saw players take part in an 8-hour match, culminating in a total score of 736–756.
The participation of champion teams from the Brahmaputra Volleyball League added to the excitement and scale of the event.
Held at the KIIT and KISS Athletic Stadium, the festival attracted over 40,000 attendees, including 5,000 enthusiastic young volleyball fans who were actively involved in the day’s events.
In addition to the record-breaking indoor match, the festival featured 60 outdoor courts and various indoor venues, offering a range of volleyball activities that promoted fun, participation, and inclusion for all.
