India defeated Bahrain to register their fourth straight win at the AVC Men's Volleyball Cup at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Tuesday.

The hosts claimed their third straight-set win of the tournament to topple the defending champions (25-21, 25-16, 25-22) and confirmed a place in the semi-finals.

India's outside hitter Chirag Yadav once again led the scoring charts for India with 15 points, followed by Indian captain Jerome Vinith with 10 points.

Bahrain was the top-ranked team in the group, but India entered the match with full confidence, playing its aggressive style from the start.

The defending champions had a chance to stretch the match after a 3-point lead in the third set, but the hosts kept up the pressure and eventually clinched the match.

India also continued their rise in the FIVB Rankings, moving up one spot to 48th in the world after reaching their first-ever semi-final at the AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup.

They will next take on former Asian champions Australia on 25th June, aiming to extend their winning streak ahead of the knockout stage.
