With the Olympic Games becoming the latest to be postponed, many fans, sports tourists and sports gamblers alike wonder where 2021 is heading. It is very clear at this point that 2020 simply wrecked the sporting calendar and the world's biggest sports events officials are striving to stop that from happening again in 2021.

While many events are still under the sign of doubt with many pieces missing from the puzzle, in some field, things are already looking quite bright since the organizers really did a great job in taking the appropriate measures so things could go as smoothly and as closest to normal as possible.

Since there are so many anxious fans desperately looking for answers, we scouted around the Indian casinos and put together some missing links and presented you some data about the unmissable sporting events of 2021.

Fifa Club World Cup Qatar 2021

The 2020 Fifa World Cup was supposed to be the 17th edition of the FIFA World Cup but it was postponed to 2021 as the CONMEBOL, CONCACAF and AFC champions could not come to an agreement in time. Originally the event should have taken place in December 2020 but the official announcement regarding postponing came on 17 November of the same year. The new official date has been placed between 1 and 11 February 2021 and the tournament will be hosted by Qatar.

There were originally seven teams to compete in the tournament but the representatives of OFC withdrew, leaving only six teams competing but the event will surely be no less exciting. Since Auckland City withdrew, Al-Duhail automatically passes the first round with 3-0.

With these changes, the 18th edition of the 2021 FIFA World Cup which was supposed to take place in June and Jully will be postponed to December 2021 and will be hosted by Japan.

Horse racing: 2021 Dubai World Cup Carnival

Five continents and over 63 trainers from 12 countries are featured on the Dubai World Cup Carnival, one of the biggest sports events in the world in 2021. The tournament will start on January 21.

The biggest teams are lead by Fawzi Nass and Simon Crisford while the accepted nominees count names such as G1 winners Lord Glitters and Oxted from England and Berkshire Rocco, the St. Leger runner-up.

The Dubai World Cup Carnival 2021 prize is worth US$6.000.000 and will be spread across 7 race meetings.

NFL Super Bowl

In 2021 the NFL Super Bowl championship will be played on February 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The officials say that even if things look very different this year, they are committed to "deliver the ultimate fan experience in the safest way possible".

In 2020 Shakira and Jennifer Lopez headlined the NFL Super Bowl halftime show in Miami and this year we have The Weekend as the halftime show performers. Also, the anthem will be sung by grammy-nominees Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church.

Just like the rest of the events, 2021 is a great year for bets at Indian casinos hosting sports events and from our sources here are the odds:

  • Buccaneers +3(+105), Chiefs -3(-105)

Previous Super Bowl champions are Chiefs def. 49ers 31-20

Australian Open Tennis

A lot of uncertainty has surrounded the Australian Open Tennis tournament this year. There are some juicy pieces of information offered by some Indian casinos regarding this event and there seems to be some good news also regarding the prizes.

The Australian Open was scheduled originally for January 18th but was postponed to February 8th. The ATP confirmed that the players will arrive in Australia from January 10-13 and will stay there to complete their isolation and event organisers hope to operate between 50% and 70% of the normal capacity. For the first time, the fans will not be permitted to roam freely and there will be three designated zones, each with their own entrances and exits.

Among players who would have been seeded but withdrew we have names like Roger Federer, John Isner and Cristian Garin at Men's singles and Kiki Bertens, Dayana Ystemska, Amanda Anisimova and Madison Keys at Women's singles

One of the biggest surprises is the total prize for 2021 of $80,000,000. The prize is bigger with 12.7% and it is definitely a tournament record.

World Series of Darts

Officials moved mountains to make the event happen in 2021. Since the Professional Darts Corporation separated from the British Darts Organisation and due to sponsorship reasons the 2021 event was called William Hill World Darts Championship and took place between December 15 2020 and 3 January 2021.

The defending champion was Peter Wright but he was eliminated in the 3rd round, losing 4-3 to Gabriel Clemens. Gabriel became the first German player that ever reached the 4th round.

Since this was one of the few notable events that started in the troubled year of 2020 it was somehow expected to enjoy a great reputation and popularity among sports gamblers. The prize reached £2,500,000 with a winner share of £500,000.

Hero Indian Open

Many names have been given to the Hero Indian Open event over the years. Since it's the first edition in 1964 the tournament went by the following names: Wills Indian Open 90'-96', Classic Indian Open 97'-2001, Royal Challenge Indian Open 2002-2004 and Hero Indian Open 2005-2010. The event came back to the original name of Hero Indian Open in 2011 and has kept it ever since.

In 2021 the tournament was supposed to take place between March 19 and March 22 in Gurugram but just like the rest of the events was postponed due to the pandemic. Also, the Women's Indian Open was cancelled with no official date released.

This is one of the key sports events that gamblers from any Indian casino would love to make some bets on but unfortunately, the scheduled event hasn't listed any venue or prize fund. What we do know however is that previous editions have seen around 1,75 million.

Final Words

As 2021 unfolds, it's clear that this year will also be far from normal, however, we see a major improvement compared to the previous year. There is also some good news in terms of odds and bets which can be game-changing for those who know and can take the opportunity.

As the year is just beginning and there is a long road ahead we expect to see many improvements, especially with the new glimpse of hope in the Covid vaccine. Statistics look good and perhaps by the end of the year most things will fall in place and the sports events calendar will catch up.
