The third day of the Tokyo Paralympics promises to be action-packed as India has a busy day ahead and a chance to open their medal book tally at the quadrennial event.
The star table tennis player, Bhavina Patel, has advanced to the quarterfinal with a 3-0 win over Brazil's Joyce de Oliveira, while compound archer Jyoti Baliyan finished 15th in the women's individual ranking round with a final score of 671.
On the other hand, Powerlifter Sakina Khatun finished fifth in Women's -50kg Powerlifting with a best of 93kg.
Archer Rakesh Kumar finished third in the Men's Compound Individual Ranking Round, while Shyam Sundar Swami finished 21st. Likewise, Harvinder Singh finished 21st in Men's Recurve Individual Ranking Round, while Vivek Chikara finished a commendable 10th.
Bhavina Patel creates history as she bypassed the reigning Paralympic champion, Peric Borislava, the World No. 2 from Serbia as she defeats her most comprehensively in straight games, 3-0, needing just 18 minutes to book herself a semi-final ticket!

There seems to be an unfortunate injury to the Jordanian powerlifter as he is forced to bow out of the competition. The list of competitors is now down to 9 individuals.

2 Medal events up next for India
Powerlifter Jaideep Deswal will be in action in Men's -65kg Final at around 3:00 pm IST. He will be followed by the Indian flag bearer at the opening ceremony, Tek Chand, in Men's F55 Shot Put Final.
Both, Jaideep and Tek Chand, have a fair shot at ending up on the podium, and we might see India winning its first medal at the Tokyo Paralympics in a bit. Stay tuned for all the latest updates!

Men's Recurve Ranking Round draws to a close
Vivek Chikara ends at 10th position with 609 points, while Harvinder Singh ends at 21st with final score of 600.

Men's Compound Ranking Round ends
India's Rakesh Kumar finished third with a Personal Best score of 699 after 72 arrows, while Shyam Sundar Swami ends with a Season Best of 682 points at 21st position.
This result means that Rakesh Kumar will pair up with Jyoti Baliyan in the Compound Mixed Team event.

Harvinder and Vivek ranked 13th and 14th
Harvinder Singh is ranked 13th in Recurve Individual Ranking round and has countryman Vivek Chikara breathing right under his neck at the 14th spot. After 36 arrows the former has a score of 303, while the latter has 301.
