The Indian men's SL4 singles player, Suhas Yathiraj, has started his para-badminton campaign at the Tokyo Paralympics with a comfortable victory. The 38-year-old defeated Germany's JN Pott 21-9, 21-3 in just 19 minutes.

A District Magistrate (DM) of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Suhas looked comfortable right from the start of the match. He never looked in any sort of discomfort as he clinched the first game 21-9 in just 9 minutes.

JN Pott seemed no match to the world number 3 from India, who kept making the German play to his strengths. If you thought the scoreline in the first game was bad, note that Suhas won the second game 21-3 in ten minutes.

The German did try to longer the rallies a bit in the second game, but nothing really worked as Suhas game did to give him even a sniff to take the match to a decider.

Earlier the women's doubles pair of Palak Kohli and Parul Parmar had lost their first match 21-7, 21-5 against the pair from China.
