Sania Mirza has been quite the woman-on-a-mission in her recent outings at the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Qatar Open and that is showing results as the 6-time Grand Slam champion is back into the Top 50 of the WTA doubles rankings for the first time since she became a mother.

Partnering with Czech player, Lucie Hradecka, Sania Mirza took down the Australian Open Women's Doubles runners-up and the champions in two back to back clashes at the Qatar Open last week.

Displaying some classic, vintage Sania Mirza magic, the pair of Mirza-Hradecka meant business at both their outings at Dubai and Qatar, reaching the semi-final stages of both the WTA 500 and WTA 1000 tournaments, respectively.

A former World No. 1 doubles player, Sania Mirza has announced earlier this year, during the Australian Open, that she intends to make 2022 her last season as a professional on the tour and will hang up the racquet once the season ends.

Married to cricketer Shoaib Malik, Mirza was away from tennis for a bit when she gave birth to her son, Izhaan in 2018. During that period, Mirza had fallen out of the Top 50 of the doubles rankings but after quite a few consistent and power-packed performances, the Indian tennis queen is back into the Top 50 for the first time since giving birth to her son and returning to tennis.

Currently, Mirza holds the World No. 48 spot on the WTA doubles rankings.
