Chennai Open 2025: Ramkumar-Saketh Myneni lose in men's doubles final
The defending champions lost to Japanese duo Shintaro Mochizuki and Kaito Uesugi in straight sets.

Chennai: The Indian campaign at the 2025 Chennai Open Challenger came to an abrupt end as Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni lost their men's doubles final here on Saturday.
The pair, who won the 2024 edition, were unable to defend their title as they lost to Japanese doubles duo Shintaro Mochizuki and Kaito Uesugi 4-6, 4-6. in straight sets
The Japanese were on the money right from the first set and it did not take them long to pull ahead. They maintained their advantage, ultimately winning the match 6-4.
The second set followed suit, with the Indians simply unable to match the intensity and vigor of Shintaro and Kaito.
They ultimately succumbed to them, losing the second set 6-4 and the finals.
Speaking after the match, Saketh said, "Congratulations to them for playing exceptionally well today. It is always nice to play in India as it doesn't happen a lot. It was nice to experience home advantage."
Shintaro was all smiles after the match, his first experience in India being a happy one. "To be honest, I was very scared when I first came here, but I love it here now. Three more weeks to go, looking forward to going around the country," he remarked.
Ramkumar and Myneni will now pair up later this month for the ATP Pune challenger, set to begin on February 17th.
