From the sports perspective, 2022 has gotten off to a bang. The Australian Open is the first major sports event for the tennis calendar year and Novak Djokovic has made sure that it remains etched in everyone's memories for the next 340 odd days.

Coming down to business, we have only 2 Indians taking part in the Australian Open this year. After none of the Indian tennis players managed to qualify for the singles, former World No. 1 in doubles, Sania Mirza, and 2017 French Open champion, Rohan Bopanna have been trusted once again to carry forward the hopes of a nation at the Australian Open.

Participating in the Women's Doubles and Men's Doubles respectively, Rohan Bopanna will pair up with Darija Jurak Schreiber for the Mixed Doubles while 6-time Grand Slam champion will join forces with Rajeev Ram when the Mixed Doubles events begin.

Men's Doubles

Rohan Bopanna will pair up with Edouard Roger Vasselin as they take on Treat Huey and Christopher Rungkat in the first-round match. Bopanna recently won the Adelaide ATP 250 event with Ramkumar Ramanathan and therefore is in good shape. The match is set to take place at 8:45 am IST so make sure you tune in for it.

Women's Doubles

Veteran Sania Mirza is back again to fight it out for the Australian Open. She will be pairing up with Nadiia Kichenok of Ukraine and they will take on Kaja Juvan and Tamara Zidanesk of Slovenia in the first round. Both Mirza and Kichenok are enjoying good form after a decent run at Adelaide. Mirza-Kichenok's first-round match is slated for 9:20 AM IST.

Where to watch?

SonyLiv will be streaming the matches this year as well all Sony TV channels such as Sony Ten1, 2, and 3. You may also find live updates on the Australian Open website.
