ATP Auckland Open 2025: Bhambri and Olivetti advance to last eight
The Indo-French duo will face third-seeded duo Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash in the quarterfinals.
Indian tennis player Yuki Bhambri and his French doubles partner Albano Olivetti have progressed through to the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 Auckland on Wednesday.
Facing Dutch player Sander Arends and his English partner Luke Johnson in the round of 16, the Indo-French duo won in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, and advanced to the last eight of the tournament.
In the first set, Bhambri and Olivetti were taken to task by Arends and Johnson, who went ahead 4-2 thanks to their strong and dominating start.
Not to be outdone, Bhambri and Olivetti fought their way back, winning their next four games on the trot and won the first set 6-4, going 1-0 up in the match.
The Indo-French duo appeared more settled in the second set and they managed to seal victory in the match by closing the second set 6-4.
The duo will now face third-seeded British duo Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash in the quarterfinals, scheduled to take place tomorrow.
The ATP Auckland Open is part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the ATP World Tour.
Held in January every year before the Australian Open, the calendar year's first Grand Slam, the event is played at the ASB Tennis Center in Parnell.
