Sathiyan & Amalraj script history, enters Australian Open semi-final

India's table tennis duo Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Amalraj Anthony scripted history on Friday by reaching the men’s doubles semi-finals at the Australian Open. This is the first time an Indian men's pair reached the semi-final at an ITTF World Tour platinum event. The duo took on Korea's Woojin Jang and Jonghoon Lim in the quarter-finals on Friday where they emerged victoriously by 5-11, 11-6, 14-12, 11-8. https://twitter.com/ittfworld/status/1149529987550023684 Despite trailing in the first game with a glaring margin, the Indians pulled up a commendable comeback to win three consecutive games and eventually win the match in about 30 minutes. The Indian pair had defeated Australia's David Powell and Kane Townsend 7-11, 3-11, 8-11 in the Round of 16 to progress into the Quarter-Final stage.
