Indian paddlers were in action at the first round of the 2025 Table Tennis World Championships in Doha, Qatar on Saturday.
Sreeja Akula, Diya Chitale, and Manush Shah played the singles round of 128 matches, whereas the men's doubles duo of Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah were in action in the round of 64.
In women's doubles, both Indian pairs of Diya / Yashaswini Ghodpade and Ayhika Mukherjee / Sutirtha Mukherjee began their campaign in the first round.

Diya Chitale and Yashaswini Ghodpade advance to the second round
The second Indian women's doubles pair of Diya Chitale and Yashaswini Ghodpade progressed to the second round of the competition with a 4-game win against Uzbekistan pair.
They had a bad start to the match, losing the opening game closely but then they bounced back and win the final three games to confirm a spot in second round.

First Win of the year for Ayhika-Sutirtha
The Asian medalist duo of Ayhika and Sutirtha ended their six-match losing streak to progress to the next round of the ITTF World Championships.
They didn't have an easy task in the first round, as they were forced to play a five-game thriller by the less experienced Turkish pair of Ozge Yilmaz and Ece Harac.
