The Indian women's team scripted history by defeating second-seeded Korea 3-2 in the quarterfinals at the Asian Table Tennis Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
Unbeaten Ayhika Mukherjee's heroics in the first and final match proved to be crucial for the Indian team. Manika Batra won the second match to give India a 2-0 lead, but she went down in the fourth match of the tie.
This was India's first medal at the Asian Championships.
