Manav Thakkar, Manush Shah, and Poymantee Baisya will lead the Indian team at the 2nd ITTF Mixed World Cup starting on the 1st of December 2024 in Chengdu, China.

India has named a young team without experienced players like Manika Batra, Achanta Sharath Kamal, Harmeet Desai, and Sreeja Akula.

Jeet Chandra and Snehit S are the other male players while Yashaswini Ghorpade, Pritha Vartikar, and Sayali Wani complete the women's player line-up.

Poymantee and Snehit are the two players who featured in the last edition of the tournament as well.

The Indian team is seventh in the tournament with China, Japan, and Korea occupying the top three seeds.

The tournament is played in two stages: 16 qualified teams take each other on in the group stage with four teams in each group. The top two from each group make it to the second stage which has eight teams.

The teams play each other in the second stage with four teams moving ahead to the semi-finals.

China won the inaugural edition last year while India finished last in their group after managing to win just one game in stage 1.

This year, the young Indian team will look to perform better than the previous year and try to enter the second stage.
