India’s rising table tennis star, Ankur Bhattacharjee, added another feather to his cap by winning the WTT Youth Contender Cappadocia 2025 title in the U-19 boys' singles category.
The 18-year-old paddler delivered a commanding performance in the final, defeating Iran’s Benyamin Faraji in straight sets 3-0 (11-9, 16-14, 14-12).
The match, which lasted 28 minutes and 24 seconds, saw Ankur display remarkable composure.
Overcoming a tough challenge from Faraji, Ankur executed his signature topspin and deceptive strokes with precision to claim the title.
Ankur Bhattacharjee has been a dominant force in the U-19 category, remaining unbeaten for the last three years. His consistent performances have made him one of India’s most promising young talents on the junior circuit.
His recent triumph at the 86th Junior and Youth National Table Tennis Championships in Vadodara showcased his exceptional form.
Representing West Bengal, he secured a golden hat-trick by winning the U-19 boys' singles, doubles, and team event titles. He clinched the singles crown for the third consecutive year, further proving his mettle as a future star in Indian table tennis.
