World Junior Squash C'ships: Anahat Singh moves to the quarterfinals

Top-seeded Anahat Singh advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Squash Junior Individual Championships in Ontario, Canada, on Wednesday.
She registered her third consecutive dominant straight-game victory, defeating Malaysia's Doyce Ye San Lee 11-4, 11-8, 11-3 in the women's singles round of 16.
Anahat has cruised through the tournament without much resistance so far, but she now faces her toughest test yet against Egypt's Habiba Rizk in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
The teenager will now target another World Junior Championships medal and could become the first Indian finalist in 21 years, since Joshna Chinappa won silver in 2005.
Meanwhile, Aryaveer Dewan's campaign ended in the men's singles pre-quarterfinals after he suffered a straight-game defeat to USA's Yassen Shalaby, losing 11-4, 11-1, 11-5.
Dewan, one of the top eight seeds, fell short as Shalaby outclassed him, not allowing the Indian to score more than five points in any game.
As a result, Anahat is the only Indian player left in the competition, with India's campaign in the men's singles coming to an end.
