White Oaks Cup: Veer Chotrani wins the PSA Challenger Tour title
Eighth-seed Veer defeated higher-seeded Salah Eltorgman from Canada in straight games to win the final.
Indian squash player Veer Chotrani clinched the PSA Challenger Tour title at the White Oaks Cup in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada on Sunday.
The 23-year-old player has claimed his fifth PSA career title, winning in straight games with scores of 11-6, 11-2, and 11-9 against the higher-seeded Salah Eltorgman from Canada in the final match.
Veer entered the tournament as the eighth seed but demonstrated his full potential by defeating three higher-seeded opponents to secure the title. This included a closely contested 3-2 victory over Daniel Poleshchuk from Israel in the quarterfinals.
Veer has had an impressive performance this year, securing his second PSA title in the last two months after a strong victory at the LifeTime Metro West Open in September 2024.
Currently ranked 130th in the world, Veer aims to maintain his form in upcoming tournaments with the goal of breaking into the top 100 rankings by early 2025.
His next competition will be the Costa Rica Open, starting on November 14, 2024.
