PSA Squash World C'ships 2026: Veer Chotrani falls short of world no.1 Asal
Indian campaign ended in the Round of 32 of the PSA World Championships in Egypt.

Veer Chotrani bowed out in the second round of the 2026 PSA Squash World Championships, losing to World No. 1 Mostafa Asal in Giza, Egypt, on Sunday.
Veer was India's last man standing at the tournament, but he couldn't offer much resistance to the defending champion, conceding a straight-game defeat, 5-11, 2-11, 4-11.
The home favourite showed his class and outpowered Veer, who could only score 11 points from the three games and exited in the Round of 32.
This will be Veer's back-to-back second-round exit at the World Championships, following his defeat last year to then world no.1 Ali Farag.
Earlier in the competition, Veer had upset his fellow compatriot and the India no.1 Abhay Singh in a marathon hour-long match on Friday.
The other two Indians in the fray, Ramit Tandon and Velavan Senthilkumar, have also faced an early exit in the first round on Saturday.
This also marked India’s third consecutive second-round exit at this event, with Sourav Ghosal being the last Indian to reach the round of 16 in 2023.
The Indian contingent will be aiming to find their form back in the coming tournaments to boost their confidence ahead of the Asian Games 2026.
