Anahat Singh clinches back-to-back PSA Challenger title at NSW Squash Open
India’s 16-year-old squash sensation Anahat Singh secured her 7th PSA Challenger title this year, defeating Helen Tang in a thrilling final.
Sixteen-year-old Indian squash sensation Anahat Singh clinched her second consecutive PSA Challenger title at the NSW Squash Open 2024, solidifying her reputation as a rising star in international squash.
Defeating Hong Kong's Helen Tang in the final (8-11, 11-6, 11-3, 11-4), Anahat not only marked her seventh PSA Challenger title of the year but also continued her impressive streak following a historic 2023.
Already celebrated for her achievements at the 2023 Asian Games, where she earned two bronze medals in the women’s team and mixed doubles, Anahat holds the distinction of being the youngest Indian to medal at the Games, a record she briefly maintained at just 15 years and six months.
Her swift ascent is no surprise to her fans, who have followed her journey from her Commonwealth Games debut in 2022 to her current dominance in junior and senior national championships.
She shot to fame in 2019 by winning the British Junior Open under-11 title, a first for any Indian player. Guided by her coaches and her older sister Amira, herself a talented squash player, Anahat has proven her mettle across international arenas, including victories in tournaments across Europe, Asia, and the U.S.
With a relentless drive and a trophy cabinet that’s expanding rapidly, Anahat Singh is a young talent set to reshape the future of Indian squash.
