Welcome to The Bridge's LIVE Blog for Shooting on Day 1 of the Tokyo Olympics.
The star Indian pistol shooter, Saurabh Chaudhary faltered in the final to finish seventh in the Men's 10m Air Pistol with a score of 137.4. The Meerut boy who was on fire in the qualification round, looked far from his best in the final as he crumbled under the pressure.
Iran's Javad Foroughi is the Olympic Champion in Men's 10m air pistol, while Serbia's Mikec Damir and the Chinese Wei Pang settled for silver and bronze, respectively.
Earlier, Abhishek Verma was failed to qualify for Men's 10m air pistol final whereas the women's 10m air rifle duo of Elavenil Valarivan and Apurvi Chandela too had the same fate.

Can Apurvi Chandela and Elavenil Valarivan open India's account at the Tokyo Olympics?
The qualification event for women's 10m air rifle is expected to start in just some minutes at 5 am IST. The qualification will be immediately followed by the final at 7:15 am IST - the first real chance for India to earn a podium finish.
Who will open India's account at the Tokyo Olympics? Will it be Apurvi Chandela or will it be Elavenil Valarivan? Or will India open their account at all through this event? Remember, Chandela has not found her 2019 self as yet and Elavenil did not earn the Olympic quota for herself. It will take a some great mental strength from the duo to leave it all behind and shoot their best at the Asaka Shooting Range today.
I won't not say anything further because I do no want to remembered as the guy who jinxed it. GOOOO INDIAAAA!
