Record 13,522 shooters to compete in the 67th National Shooting Championship
The pistol events have drawn 5,672 entries, while the rifle segment sees a record-breaking 7,013 participants, making it the largest event in the championship.
The 67th National Shooting Championship Competition (NSCC) is set to witness a record turnout, with 13,522 shooters competing across various events starting Thursday.
The championship kicks off with shotgun events at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi, while the pistol events begin December 13 at the same venue.
Rifle competitions will take place at the MP State Shooting Academy ranges in Bhopal from December 15 to 31.
The championship will feature 837 shotgun shooters competing in skeet, trap, and double trap categories across multiple classifications, including master, senior master, and super master, alongside senior and junior levels.
Defending champions Anant Jeet Singh Naruka (men's skeet) and Ganemat Sekhon (women's skeet) will also participate.

The tournament will host shooters from 40 teams, representing states, union territories, armed forces, and institutions like ONGC and Railways. The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) confirmed that performances at the championship will influence the selection of the Indian team for the 2025 international season.
The official pre-event training for skeet shooters in Group 2 and Group 3 begins Wednesday, with qualification rounds starting Thursday. Group 1 competitors will join the action on December 21.
