Paralympics 2024 Para-Shooting: Sidhartha Babu, Mona Agarwal bows out in Qualification- Highlights

Series 4 ( Shots 36th to 40th): A 104.6 Series by Sidhartha

Mona continues to hit the 9 mark to start, shoots a 9.9, hits 2 10.7s, a 10.6, and a 10.2. 

Sidhartha starts with a 10.5, gets back-to-back near-perfect 10.8s, and ends the 4th series with a 10.0 and 10.4.

Series 4 ( Shots 31st to 35th): Sidhartha at 19th Position

Sidhartha shots 2 10.6s, 2 10.5s and a 9.9. 

Mona third time in a row, starts with a 9-pointer, hits 9.7, gets 10.0, to up by 2 10.1s, and a 9.9.

Series 3 ( Shots 26th to 30th): Sidhartha continues to shoot well, but is it enough?

Sidharta hits 2 10.4s, a 10.7, 10.2 and a 10.1. 

Mona again starts with a 9.5, hits 10.0, 10.1, 10.2 and a 10.4

Series 3 ( Shots 21st to 25th): Sidhartha Babu climbs, Mona falls down

Mona hits 3 9-pointers, gets a 9.5, 9.8, and 9.2, and hits a 10.0 and 10.5 too.

Sidhartha gets away with a 10.2, hits  10.0, back-to-back 10.3s, and ends with a 10.5

Series 2 ( Shots 16th to 20th): Mona & Sidhartha facing a slump it seems

10.0, 10.3, 10.2, 10.2, 10.4 by Sidhartha to end the 2nd series with 102.0 points.

Mona hits two 10.2s, a 10.4, 10.1 and a 9.8, ends the 2nd series with 100.8 points.

Series 2 ( Shots 11th to 15th): Mona shoots two 9-pointers, slips out of top 10

Mona starts with a 10.3, falls by 0.1 to hit 10.2, faulters more by hitting a 9.9, get backs with a 10.4, and ends with a 9.3.

Sidhartha starts with a 10.5, slowly fades with 10.3, 10.1, 10.3 and 9.7. 

Series 1 ( Shots 6th to 10th): Mona climbs to 4th

Mona starts with a below 10, 9.9, and bounces back with higher 10s, 10.7, 10.4, 10.8 & 10.5. 

Mona finishes the first series with 104.5 points. 

Sidhartha Babu hits 10.5, 9.7, 10.2, 10.7, and 9.7, and ends with 101.0 points in the 1st series

Series 1 ( Shots 1st to 5th): Indians start steady

Mona begins with 2 10.6s, 10.7, 10.5, and a below-par 9.9. 

Sidhartha starts with 10.0, 9.8, 9.6, 10.5, and 10.3.

LIVE: Mixed 50m Rifle Prone SH1 Qualification

A total of 36 para-shooters, including 9 female shooters will battle it out for the top 8 spots for the final.

A total of 60 shots, 10 shots in each series will be fired, in a total of 6 series. 

10.9 will be the highest score, i.e. the bull's eye for a single shot.

Qualification World Record:  629.2 points - Dong Chao ( China)

Paralympic Qualification Record:  627.7 points -  Natascha Hiltrop ( Germany)

The last throw of the dice for a medal in shooting from the Indian contingent.

Mona & Sidhartha will take the Chateroux shooting range in a bit, at the Mixed 50m Rifle Prone Qualifications.

NOTE:- In the Paralympics, the mixed event consists of individual shooters irrespective of the gender.
