Indian para recurve archer Pooja Jatyan lost to China's Wu Chunyan in the women's recurve open category quarter-finals, at Les Invalides arena in Paris, on Tuesday.
After two sets, Pooja was in a dominant position leading 4-0 and in the third set as well, after shooting two 10s, needed a 9 or a 10 to win the match.
But to everyone's surprise, Pooja faltered with a 7 and lost the set to the Chinese, bringing her back in the contest.
Pooja followed that up with another 7 in the final attempt of set four, once again giving the Chinese two points and the match went into the deciding set.
In the decider, Wu Chunyan managed 27 from her three arrows whereas Pooja could only manage 24, thereby losing the set and the match to the Chinese.
From being down 0-4, the Chinese has scripted a remarkable comeback and will now play in the semi-finals, giving herself a shot at a medal, whereas Pooja will now look to set this aside and prepare herself for the mixed team event, scheduled to begin two days from now.
Earlier in the day, Pooja made light work of Turkish opponent Yagmur Sengul, winning the match in straight sets 6-0.
