The world no.1 Indian archer will go up against Ken Sawgumilang of Indonesia in the round of 16 in men's compound archery
India's world no.1 para compound archer Rakesh Kumar finishes in fourth place at the men's compound archery open event at the Paris Paralympics 2024.
After defeating Ken Swagumilang and Kyle Strembly in the R16 and quarters, two loses to the Indian against Ai Xinliang first in the semis and He Zihao in the bronze medal match.

Rakesh opens round five, scoring a 10 in his first arrow! His second shot gets him another 10, he needs a 10 now, and he gets it! 30/30 from Rakesh!
Zihao, as he normally does, also hits a 10! His second shot is also a 10! Zihao needs a 10 to get bronze, and he does it! 30/30 from him as well!
Brilliant archery from both para-athletes, but Zihao comes out on top with a brilliant performance!
Rakesh fought valiantly but will have to settle for a fourth place at the Paris Paralympics.

Rakesh though, gets started with a 9. His second arrow lands on a 10, and the third yields him a 9!
Zihao is now in the lead with three arrows left!

Zihao opens with a 9, and follows with a bullseye 10! The Chinese finishes round three with a 9! A bit wayward from the Chinese
Rakesh starts round three with a perfect 10! His second arrow gets him a 9! Rakesh finishes with another 10!
Once again, the Indian leads by one point at the end of round three!
