Pranjala Yadlapalli registers one of the biggest wins in Indian women Tennis
Pranjala Yadlapalli registered one of the biggest wins in the history of Indian women Tennis, today morning. The 21 year old from Hyderabad defeated former world number 20 Daria Gavrilova 4-6,6-4,10-6 at the UTR Melbourne series hosted by Tennis Australia.
In a surprising victory for the Indian, she didn’t look anywhere near her best in the first set going down 4-6. But the youngster from Hyderabad roared back and the Australian didn’t seem to have any answers as the Indian went on to win the next two sets 6-4, 10-6 to register a famous win.

Pranjala had been making waves in the international circuit since the past two years. 2018 was a golden year for her as she registered two back to back ITF singles title in Lagos, two doubles title, made the Fed Cup debut, represented India in the Asian Games and also made the main draw of a WTA event in Mumbai.
This win against former junior world number one would surely give Pranjala an immense confidence boost going forward. Gavrilova had defeated Dayana Yastremska and had a close run in with Eugenie Bouchard in the recently concluded French Open.
