Delhi-based martial artist Chinmay Sharma has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the highest unassisted 360-degree martial arts kick, reaching an astounding height of 2.08 meters (6 feet 9 inches).
This impressive feat was captured in a viral video that showcases Sharma’s expertise in Tang Soo Do, a traditional Korean martial art.
The record-breaking kick, executed on August 4, 2024, in Delhi, has since garnered admiration worldwide on Guinness World Records’ official Instagram account.
Sharma’s journey in martial arts spans over 15 years, during which he has set multiple records in various categories.
As head coach at the Lion Institute of Martial Arts, he has trained over 150 students, focusing on empowering women through self-defense skills.
"Martial arts is underrated sport in India there is less exposure compared to others but I believe every sports need one game changer Initially, when I broke records, people told me to invest in paid PR, saying it's essential. But I never understood why. I thought, 'Why spend money to tell my own people about my achievements for the country?' I believed let’s focus on the things which is in my hand and that is hardwork and grind for my sport," Chinmay wrote on LinkedIn.
