India's ace wrestler Bajrang Punia on Monday announced he is going to be inactive from all his social media handles. He takes the decision to keep himself focussed till the biggest event - the Olympics, which will be held from July to August 2021 after it got postponed for a year following the outbreak of coronavirus.
Bajrang took to Twitter to announce his decision. He wrote:
Mein apne sabhi social media handles ko aaj se band kar raha hu. Ab Olympic ke baad aap sabhi se mulaakaat hogi ... ummeed karta hu aap apna pyaar banaye rakhenge ..... jai Hind (I am closing all my social media handles from today. I will see you guys only after the Olympics. Hope you will keep showing your love and support for me. Jai Hind)
Bajrang Punia is one of the four Indian wrestlers, who have already qualified for the Tokyo Games and he is one of the best bet to win a medal for India at the Games. The 65kg freestyle wrestler is a three-time world championships medallist and was last seen competing in the Asian Wrestling Championships in February 2020.
The no.2 in the world in 65-kg category, Bajrang will now competing in the Matteo Pellicone Rome Rankings Series from this week and will be hoping to get back into rhythm before the Games.

Bajrang Punia has been quite vocal about his stances on social media. Earlier in February, he spoke out against the arrest of journalist Mandeep Punia. Mandeep, a freelancer journalist with The Caravan, was on an assignment to cover the farmers' protest at Singhu. On January 31, he was arrested on charges of causing assault, injury and obstruction to security forces at the Singhu border.
