Ajay Devgn's sports movie Maidaan to release on Dusshera 2021

Ajay Devgn starrer film Maidaan has become the first sports movie to announce a release date since the pandemic. Maidaan was supposed to hit the big screens on the Independence Day this year, but the shoot was halted midway due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, the superstar himself has confirmed that the movie will be released worldwide in theaters on Dussehra 2021, with the shoot re-starting during January 2021. Devgn tweeted, “Maidaan’ now releases worldwide in theatres on Dussehra 2021. Shoot commences January 2021.

Maidaan is expected to depict the golden era of Indian football with Devgnn playing the character of the coach, Syed Abdul Rahim. According to various reports, 40% of the shoot is yet to complete.

It is also expected that various international football stars would be flying down to India for the shoot and various football stadiums will be recreated. The movie was announced in January 2019 with a first look poster when Devgn took to his twitter and said, “Yeh kahaani hai Indian football ke Golden phase ki aur uske sabse badey aur successful coach ki.#Maidaan”
