India is showing rapid growth with its youth showcasing their talent, and while a young Anisha Verma may not seem that different from the average kid her age, the 15-year-old will be representing India in an international competition in Italy. Anisha will look to prove her mettle at the Youth World Sport Climbing Championship to be held in Arco, Italy, from August 22 to 31. spo

The teenager already has several gold medals to her name in speed and bouldering, besides finishing on the podium in zonal and state events. However, Anisha's mentor Bibhas Roy is confident of her win. "Anisha has improved a lot. She's a keen learner who seldom skips her training. I have great faith in her abilities as a climber," he said, speaking to The Telegraph, adding that she would compete in speed, lead, and bouldering categories of sport climbing.

"I think I am in good form. I love climbing and will try my best to win a medal for my country," said Anisha.

Anisha's expenses have been taken care of by the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) at the sports hostel of JRD Tata Sports Complex. The foundation is the lone sport climbing facility in Jharkhand producing a crop of experienced mentors like Roy.
