It has been a season of changes in the ATK and Mohun Bagan camps with the two teams merging together amidst much controversy and aplomb. Ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL), the maroon and green brigade are planning their team already and their foremost decision has been to retain the immensely successful pair of Roy Krishna and David Williams. The extremely instrumental duo agreed to continue their contract for the next season and was not in the least hesitant while signing on the terms.

The news of Krishna-Williams being retained is the cause of happiness for both ATK and erstwhile Mohun Bagan supporters. While the hue and cry are still fresh in the air about the merger taking place and a variety of opinions are still being voiced about it, the newly-formed ATK-Mohun Bagan club is keeping itself busy in composing the team for the upcoming season of the ISL. Upon head coach, Antonio López Habas' deliberations with other governing body members, it was of no surprise, that one of their first thoughts would go towards keeping back their favorite duo of Krishna and Williams.

Both Roy Krishna as well as David Williams have begun to enjoy Kolkata and its entire atmosphere a lot and did not find it necessary to deny the proposal for a contract extension with the ATK-Mohun Bagan governing bodies. Having a great understanding between themselves and a great bond, both on and off the field, the duo of Krishna-Williams is almost like a weapon in some of the ISL matches, as their tactical game plan gets goals on the board and wins on the table.

Thinking well ahead of the upcoming season and gift happiness to both Mohun Bagan and ATK supporters, the new team's decision to continue their contract with Krishna-Williams is extremely wise and was the untold need of the hour. Other than this duo, several other Indian players have been approached and contracts of even up to 2-3 years have been drawn out. It seems like the ATK-Mohun Bagan club does want to waste any time as they are busy organizing a super team for the season ahead.
