The 14th day of the 2025 National Games saw meet records being broken for fun in race walk, Animesh Kujur winning his third gold medal of the Games, and KM Chanda completing a hat-trick of women's 800m titles.

Jyothi Yarraji, having not trained for 200m at all, eased to win the gold medal as well in the event.

    Agasara Nandini wins the Heptathlon gold medal for Telangana with a score of 5601. She also earns the qualification mark for the Asian Athletics Championships.

    Tennis: Vaidhehee Chaudhari wins women's singles gold

    In the final medal event of tennis, Vaidhehee Chaudhari from Gujarat takes home a gold medal, defeating Vaishnavi Adkar of Maharashtra in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

    Taranveer wins men's Hammer Throw

    Taranveer Singh Bains of Services is the men's hammer throw champion, with a best effort of 66.64m.

    Damneet Singh of Punjab and Praveen Kumar of Rajasthan finish with silver and bronze respectively.

    Praveen Chitravel is men's triple jump champion

    Praveen Chitravel of Tamil Nadu is the men's triple jump final with a leap of 16.50m.

    He finishes ahead of compatriot Muhammed Salahuddin (16.01m) and Kerala's Mohammed Muhassin (15.57m)!

    Afsal wins men's 800m

    Mohammed Afsal wins men's 800m for Services. He was fourth heading into the last 75m of the race but overtakes everyone to grab the gold medal!

    Anu Kumar of Uttarakhand and Prakash Gadade of Services finish second and third respectively.

    KM CHANDA WINS 800m

    KM Chanda once again defends her National Games title in women's 800m.

    That's her third straight 800m title since the Games returned in 2022.

    Chanda clocks a meet record of 2:00.82s to win the gold medal. Twinkle Chaudhary and Amandeep Kaur take silver and bronze respectively for Punjab.

    "I miss chicken chilli"

    Animesh Kujur walks away with three gold medals at the 2025 National Games.

    He wins men's 100m, men's 200m, and the men's 4x100m relay for Odisha - the best track and field performer in Dehradun!

    But, he rues that his coach still won't let him have chicken chilli with upcoming competitions in mind.

    "I miss chicken chilli, it is my favourite," Kujur tells the broadcasters. "My coach won't allow me to have it."

    Animesh Kujur wins 200m

    Animesh Kujur walks away with the 200m gold with a timing of 20.58s. Too easy for Kujur with competitors not even in the frame over the last 20 metres.

    Ragul Kumar (21.06s) and Nitin B (21.07s) take silver and bronze respectively in a photo finish.

    "Did not expect to win"

    What that a dis to the competition from Jyoti Yarraji?

    "I did not expect to win 200m," says Jyoti Yarraji to the broadcasters.

    "I did not train also," she adds.
