It is a whole different thing for the IOC to decide if the Olympics are going to be held this year or not but there are a lot people concerning the vent directly or indirectly who have put across their views on the summer games being held as per schedule.

This is the Olympic year year which means that all the athletes will be doing their extra to get their Olympics ticket regardless of any confirmation of them taking place so it only makes sense for them to express the on different platforms. Let's have a look at who all are on which side of the court.

While this what IOC president thinks about conducting Olympics as per schedule, the USA swimming chief executive Tim Hinchey thinks it is better to postpone the games.

Even four-time ice-hockey gold medalist from Canada, Hayley Wickenheiser thinks it is insensitive of IOC to even consider it after three months given the situation. She points out that the crisis is bigger than Olympics and we hardly know what comes the very next hour let alone be three months.

Much celebrated decathlon Olympic gold medalist, Ashton Eaton says it is best to postpone the event. He even questions the IOC's conscience to conduct the largest sporting event amidst all the risk involved.

Spain is among the worst-hit nations of the novel coronavirus and the Spain Olympic Committee have also come out in support of postponement of the Olympics. The president of the nations Olympics committee thinks that the summer games should be postponed as the players itself are not able to train. Earlier, on 18 March he said that they would indeed like the games to take place but with security.

British athlete Guy Learmonth who captained the Great Britain team in the European championship last year and is hoping to be picked in 800m is the English athlete to come out openly with risks of continuing with the game, reports the Guardian. This comes after the Japanese PM insists they will start as planned in July.

The United States president, Donald Trump also suggested for the games to postponed by a year. He thinks it is better than to have empty stadiums. Although in a tweet earlier, he did not mention the risk factor and seemed pretty satisfied with venue.
