On Sunday at 11 am, PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation through the 45th episode of his radio show Mann ki Baat. Our PM talked about the recently concluded India-Afghanistan test match during his radio address and appraised the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by the Indian cricket team. The PM also talked about World Yoga Day and highlighted its importance. Prime Minister Modi said that the winning Indian cricket team showed sportsmanship in asking the Afghanistan team to pose together for photographs. He said on his radio show, “Sports is an excellent route to unite society and to showcase skills of our youth Sports is a great medium for the integration of society. It is also a great medium to find out the talent in the youths.”  As per a report on the

our Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the states for taking the decision to implement GST in national interest. He said on Mann Ki Baath, “GST is the victory and festival of honesty. Earlier, complaints used to come regarding inspector-raj in the matters related to taxes. Now information technology has replaced inspectors.” Furthermore, Modi said that yoga has redefined Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam  and congratulated the people on making World Yoga Day a success. He said, “The entire world seemed to be united on World Yoga Day on June 21. It is a matter of great pride for Indians to witness our armed forces perform yoga on land, sea and sky - in submarines; on the snowy mountainous terrain of Siachen and even in mid-air, some 15 thousand feet above the earth.” He also spoke of the Saint and poet Kabir Das. He said, “Saint Kabir Das emphasised on equality, peace and brotherhood through his dohas.” Thereafter the PM went on to talk about how in India, we give the status of God to mothers, as they give birth. On the other hand, he opined that doctors give rebirth, who are like our friends. He said that these doctors not only cure, but heal. He said, “Indian doctors have made their mark internationally, with their skills and capabilities. Our doctors are known for solving complex medical problems. I, on the behalf of the entire nation, wish a happy Doctor's Day, which is on July 1.” Also, importantly, he reported through his radio show, “The country is proud that the jawans performed Yoga on land, air and water. Some soldiers performed Yoga inside sub-marines. Some soldiers performed Yoga at Siachen.” With Mann ki Baat the Prime Minister has been truly able to be the people’s man and also his voicing of positive opinion and encouragement for Sports gives us high hopes for an even better tomorrow for Indian Sports.
