MMA Company ONE Championship inks broadcast deal with Star Sports

The group CEO and founder of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong, announced a multi-year deal with Star Sports India as the Championship's action will be boradcast and streamed live in India on the channel and on Hotstar. “I am thrilled to announce that ONE Championship will now air in India on both Star Sports and Hotstar with a multiyear partnership, starting on March 31 with ONE: A New Era in Tokyo!,” Sityodtong said on social media. https://twitter.com/yodchatri/status/1109059299173519361?s=19 “Thank you to Uday Shankar, Chairman/CEO of Star Sports and Chairman/CEO of Walt Disney Asia, for your vision and leadership in putting together this groundbreaking partnership between the world’s largest entertainment company and Asia’s largest global sports media property," he added. The Mixed Martial Arts company that has often been touted as Asia's largest sports media company by a number of outlets, describes itself as celebrating the beauty of Mixed Martial Arts. Recently in February, Ritu Phogat signed with ONE Championship and was slated to move to Singapore to train at
EvolveMMA.
“Women’s wrestling sensation Ritu Phogat embodies the true values of martial arts and is a great fit for our organization. I would like to personally welcome Ritu to the ONE Championship family," Siyodtong was quoted as saying when the signing was first announced. “I am very excited to compete against the best mixed martial artists in the world and to bring glory and pride to my home country. I also look to prove that Indian martial arts is truly world-class," Ritu Phogat had been quoted as saying when her move was first announced. ONE Championship is reportedly eyeing the Indian market as a keen opportunity to expand itself with the vast audience it is sure to get. The details of the broadcast deal with Star Sports yet remain to be seen.
