She further donated her one month’s salary of Rs 1 lakh towards providing relief.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country has now increased to 1,161 even as the country remains under a 21-day lockdown announced by Prime Minister NarendraModi to stop the spread of the virus.
Olympic bronze medallist MC Mary Kom was embroiled in a controversy after she broke the Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) self-isolation guidelines following her return from the Olympic qualifiers held in Amman, Jordan. Mary Kom, a Rajya Sabha MP, was pictured with Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on March 18 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, having accepted an invitation for breakfast despite being instructed by SAI to self-isolate for 10 days since her return from Jordan on March 13.
