National Kho-Kho team's star diver and captain, Nasreen, was stuck in an unprecedented situation where she had to straight away appeal Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to help her and her member family sustain this lockdown but she didn't get any response on it and then Kho-Kho federation stepped in to provide Rs 1 Lakh to her family.
Coronavirus pandemic has put a hault in the daily life and people all over the world are struggling to keep up with this situation. Nasreen's family struggled for food. According to a report in the Times of India, she said "I have worked really hard to make this country proud in kho-kho. But today, my family is struggling during the lockdown. Things are so bad that we don't have enough food."
Kho-Kho federation then decided to transfer Rs 1 lakh to her bank account. "We are always at the fore-front to support sports persons and deserving talents who face genuine issues. It is unfortunate that a national player had to face such situation in these unprecedented time," Ms Tyagi, KKFI general secretary said.
