Pro Kabaddi League: Tamil Thalaivas shine, Haryana Steelers beat Patna Pirates
The Thalaivas secured a dominating victory over the Giants, winning 40-27, and the Steelers secured a comeback victory over Patna.

Tamil Thalaivas secured a commanding 40-27 victory over Gujarat Giants, while Haryana Steelers triumphed in a closely contested 42-36 battle against Patna Pirates, in Pro-Kabaddi League (PKL) at Pune on Friday.
With this win, Tamil Thalaivas have amassed 38 points from 16 games and are in ninth place, whereas Haryana Steelers are leading the pack with 67 points in 17 games.
Tamil Thalaivas Outclass Gujarat Giants
Tamil Thalaivas took control of the game right from the start against Gujarat Giants.
Moein Shafaghi’s exceptional performance, which included a Super 10 and multiple all-outs, was the highlight of the match.
Supported by Sourabh Fagare and Himanshu, who contributed seven points each, the Thalaivas maintained control throughout the game.
Gujarat Giants struggled to match the Thalaivas pace, with Himanshu Singh’s 11 points being their only standout effort.
The Thalaivas entered halftime with a commanding 19-8 lead, thanks to solid defensive coordination and Shafaghi’s raids.
The second half followed a similar script, as the Thalaivas widened their lead to nearly 20 points.
Despite a late surge from the Giants, including an all-out by Himanshu Singh, the Thalaivas sealed a comprehensive 13-point victory.
Haryana Steelers Edge Patna Pirates in a Thriller
In a match full of twists and turns, Haryana Steelers defeated Patna Pirates. Shivam Patare and Mohammadreza Shadloui led the charge for the Steelers, contributing 11 and 9 points respectively.
The match started evenly, with both teams trading points. Patna Pirates Devank was in stellar form, completing his 200th raid point of the season and recording his 12th Super 10 of this campaign.
An all-out inflicted by Devank gave the Pirates a narrow 17-16 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Patare's Super Raid and Shadloui’s Super Tackle were crucial in turning the tide in the Steelers’ favor, bringing them into the game.
With both teams neck-and-neck, the Steelers pulled ahead in the final minutes, thanks to another all-out and a strong defensive display.
